THE BETTER MAN
It’s what you strive to be. The superlative to good but inferior to best. You have armed yourself with all of the necessary components to be better – a therapist, meditation, tougher gym workouts, being more present. How do you measure your progress? Hold yourself accountable. Fortune Favors the Patient. Even is the enemy of victory. A rationale has infinite uses, much of which lies in licking our wounds and empathizing our egos. A better man sees beyond the zero sum hype. Abundance. Potential. Warrior words. The better man has a steady mind and hand. A perspective of simplicity that breaks through the noise of even the most complex. And…

TIGHTENED BLOSSOMS
Given equal circumstances, what is better a flower that remains tight in the petals, believing in longevity or the flower that blooms right away, knowing its petals may fall sooner? Every Rose Has It’s Thorn. Yes, I have to reference that famous Poison song. The juxtaposition of a bloom. Strength and delicacy. Vulnerability. Love, nutrients and light. The simple that living things need to flourish. A tightened blossom is resistance. A push back to what is natural in nature. What is needed. Yet for some, the need for control reigns supreme. There is a connection to this nature that is inescapable; the salty ocean air permeating our hair and skin blending with our natural oils; a perfume that can’t be replicated. Mercurial waves; the energy of our emotions similar to the tides, the constant ebb and flow. Do we float with the current or swim against it? Sweat, and tears, misting from our pores, a truly tangible sign that we answer ultimately to the call from nature.

THE QUESTION OF PARADISE
“This morning, with her, having coffee.” Johnny Cash When we think of paradise it is often a place. Perhaps a white sand beach that doesn’t burn your feet, with crystal clear water that feels like a refreshing bath. The conjuring of blissful place, that is as calming and invigorating to our insides as it is to our physical being. The cliche, ” we want what we don’t have” creates a longing in us to chase that unknown. This is beyond ambition. Is it greed? Gluttony? Once achieved, what is next? Bigger? Better? Riskier? How to find extraordinary in our ordinary. The rare moments in our lives we chase to stay…

A NEW WEEK, A NEW LOVE NOTE
“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” Ralph Waldo Emerson At the end of the day, it is should be our characters and the foundation we build within ourselves that we look at and share as our greatest success in life. The success of knowing who you are. This is also a lifelong achievement with only upside potential.
